Our sister was a crafter and had 40 plus bins of materials for making gloves. In addition, her closets were full to the ceilings. Barb pitched in and helped along with other friends and church members of our sister so that after 3-4 months, the possessions and much of the furniture had been removed. She arranged for the heavy furniture, that no non-profit could lift, to be moved to the garage so it could be donated.
Next came the task of renovation. With the waterbed still an impediment to renovating, Barb coordinated the painting, including removal of the waterbed by the painter. Then she handled the carpet replacement, knob replacements, and deep cleaning of bathrooms and appliances. On our next visit to Palatine (we live in Iowa), Barb showed us the newly renovated condo, along with some touches of color she added. It was just beautiful!
We Docu-Signed the realtor agreement on a Sunday evening. Barb had two showings on Monday (the next day) and received two offers by 10:00 on Tuesday. She notified the two prospective buyers they had a competing offer and asked for their best offer by 8:00 that same night. One buyer offered $4,000 more and the other offered $9,000 more - just $900 less than the listing price! And with no contingency to sell real estate! We accepted and closed about two weeks later. Barb even secured a real estate attorney and Baird & Warner title services for us.
